Edie's "Graduation Poem"

(by Stacy G & Liz M)

We all know a “BUNCO BABE”
who well deserves a BUNCO cheer!
It’s lovely Edie P, of course
who’s ready to start her Nursing Career.

She studied hard for many a year
carrying all those books around.
Physiology and Chemistry
couldn’t even get her down.

She made the grades and aced the tests.
Those clinicals, she flew right through.
She graduated and passed the Boards.
There is NOTHING that she just can’t do!

So before Janine dishes out dessert
and passing prizes starts,
Come on up here dear Edie
and we’ll help you dress the part…

When every day to work you go
in scrubs and tied up hair,
Here are some things to take along
to help with patient care.

Perhaps a pair of crutches
is something they may need.
They may request an elbow sling
or Band-Aid if they bleed!

With a stethoscope around your neck
and thermometer in hand,
Don’t forget your rubber gloves
for the urinals and bed pans!

A hot water bottle may give comfort
if tummy troubles are to blame.
But there’s nothing like two aspirin
when muscles ache from stress and strain.

And still you come to BUNCO night
and set the place a’rock!
Knowing all along
you’d have to work at 6 o’clock!

Be proud to don your cap and gown
with your name tag on your chest.
Your great big heart and determination
will take care of the rest!
